Historians from Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University developed a series of video lectures on the history of the Red Army's offensive operations in East Prussia in 1944-1945. Leading military historians from the Kaliningrad region took part in the project. In total they filmed 12 lectures that tell about different aspects of the events of the Second World War on the territory of Eastern Prussia: the activity of the Soviet intelligence officers, preparation for military operations, military operations, Nazi crimes, the historiography of the East Prussian operation and the memory about these events.
Each lecture is supplemented with unique illustrative and cartographic materials. Viewing the videos is recommended for schoolchildren, students, and all those interested in military and regional history.
The video lectures were prepared with the support of the Kaliningrad Oblast Government within the framework of the project "From the Fields of the Great Patriotic War - to a New Peaceful Life: Pages of the Kaliningrad Oblast History".
